About the event

WHAT'S A SLACKLINE?

A slackline is a balance training activity (similar to a tightrope, only slacker) popular among climbers, calisthenics athletes, circus practitioners, and anyone who enjoys a focussed training discipline with a campfire vibe.

You've undoubtedly seen these bad boys at climbing walls, over water, spanning across huge ravines, and in bars across Thailand and S.E Asia!

We have 2 slacklines at Sapien Training, a wide Gibbon line (great for short distances, tricks, and beginner training) and a longer thinner line more suited to highlining and lenghtly crossings...

WHAT'S IT GOOD FOR?

Slacklining is the art of moving meditation.

You train your balance, coordination, focus, agility, proprioception, and several other mechanisms that will benefit from working with the slackline.

You need a cool head, calm under pressure, and an ability to let go and play loose to get the best out of the slackline.

It's also deeply addictive, highly social, and a great laugh to watch.

WHAT'S IN THE MEETUP?

Each meet up is a fusion of slacklining, BBQ'ing, and hanging out.

We have tickets that include food (BBQ) and tickets that don't so choose what you like.

We need good weather and soft grass, and plenty of time :)

Most of these meetups will happen at Sapien Training but we may venture further afield (please let me know if you find a good river to cross).
