WHAT'S IN THE CLASS? This is a mixed-ability, full-body movement & strength class, training ancient movement patterns developed by humans over millions of years. The class content is created to re-wild your human movement capabilities, keep your body young, and provide the antidote to the effects of our sedentary society! We get you developing movements like jumping, throwing, hanging, carrying, crawling, hiking, and moving like a human being! These are innate movement patterns and abilities that we lose through lack of practice, adopting an office lifestyle, and as we age. This class teaches your body to regain those innate capabilities, while promoting functional strength, power, and physical resilience. The drills are structured to enhance movement & physical confidence in everyday life, and in the great outdoors. WHO'S IT FOR? Anyone can attend, no matter what your fitness level. We take pride in our coaching and all exercises can be adapted to suit your abilities. The content is good for any sort of human, but extra good if you work at a desk or have a sedentary job. WHAT WE DOING? We warm up as a group with floor movement & breathwork, keeping the body supple and mobile and able to move around on the floor with ease. We'll work through a primal-movement inspired movement flow, awakening human-being in you. Then we start the strength circuit, developing your strength and power (usually in pairs or small groups) with functional movement patterns. We hang from bars, throw heavy stuff around, crawl, carry, push, pull, and pretty much move in a way the human body evolved to do. As a tribe we push each other, help one another train, provide support, motivation, and energy to bring the whole group up as one. Each exercise is regressed or progressed at your will to hit just the right intensity for you.
