TELL ME MORE
Exercise Therapy is a mobile service, bringing therapeutic exercise & physical therapy to those who need it most. WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE? Therapeutic exercise involves movement prescribed to correct impairments, restore muscular and skeletal function and/or maintain a state of well-being. Therapeutic exercise can cover a wide range of functional outcomes, including; joint mobility and health, gait rehabilitation, balance & coordination coaching, and ultimately working towards physical independence. The scientific evidence demonstrating the beneficial effects of exercise is indisputable. WHAT DO SESSIONS INVOLVE? Each session is tailored to the client/home's needs. Sessions can be either 1:1 based or small group training, or a mixture of both depending on the specific exercise needs of the client. GROUP TRAINING Group training is a great way to get your residents interacting and moving again! Rich offers all types of group therapy; strength & movement; seated yoga & joint mobility; breathwork & mindfulness; balance training; and whatever else your home require. If the group allows we go into standing exercises for balance & coordination. 1:1 TRAINING Training individually allows Rich to get more specificity with a client, and work on restoring movements and functions specific to the clients needs (such as healthy walking, balance, injury rehab & management). ABOUT RICH Richard has been working with special populations (elderly, children, disabilities, neurological & physical impairments, and overweight populations) for over 15 years. Rich holds a degree in Sports & Exercise Science that focussed specifically on exercising with special populations (elderly, children, neurologically & physically impaired individuals, and working with disabilities). After qualifying as a Personal Trainer he started working across rehab clinics, health clubs, gyms, neuro-rehabilitation centres, and privately across Hampshire and Sussex. He has also obtained several population specific qualifications & CPD along the way, mostly focussing on delivering exercise to people with neurological conditions, exercising with the elderly, fall prevention, and gait rehabilitation. Most recently Rich has been working with condition specific residential homes and delivers therapeutic exercise to homes & individuals with specialist exercise requirements such as severe disabilities, sensory limitations, and learning difficulties.
